چکیده

The DECAL sensor is a depleted monolithic active pixel (DMAPS) being developed to explore technological solutions for digital electromagnetic calorimeters. For this application, the number of pixels above threshold used estimate shower energy and therefore size required be sufficiently small avoid hit saturation. Fully Depleted (FD) sensors have been designed fabricated in TowerJazz 180 nm CMOS standard modified imaging processes, respectively. latter uses modifications implant configuration that improve charge collection radiation hardness, including levels barrel ECAL regions FCC-hh (few 10 15 n e q /cm 2 ). Both variants feature matrix 64 × with pitch 55 μ m , read out every 25 ns. FD, logic has extend in-pixel comparator trim range from five six bits, sixth bit de-activate comparator. Characterisation results equalisation matrix, scans testing under monochromatic X-rays 90 Sr source, are presented.

Fully depleted and backside biased monolithic CMOS image sensor

We are presenting a novel concept for a fully depleted, monolithic, pinned photodiode CMOS image sensor using reverse substrate bias. The principle of operation allows the manufacture of backside illuminated CMOS sensors with active thickness in excess of 100 μm. This helps increase the QE at near-IR and soft X-ray wavelengths, while preserving the excellent characteristics associated with the ...

Fully Depleted, Monolithic Pinned Photodiode CMOS Image Sensor Using Reverse Substrate Bias

A new pixel design using pinned photodiode (PPD) in a 180 nm CMOS image sensor (CIS) process has been developed as a proof of principle. The sensor can be fully depleted by means of reverse bias applied to the substrate, and the principle of operation is applicable to very thick sensitive volumes. Additional n-type implants under the in-pixel p-wells have been added to the manufacturing process...
